Dunsfold Collection of Land Rovers Open Day 2011, Dunsfold, Surrey, UK. --- No releases available, but releases may not be necessary for certain uses. One other survives at Gaydon, a six cyl type with an early style body. The load capacity is 35cwt, which with the drop side body made this, a very useful little truck. The engine was a bored out 2.25 with a 5 main bearing crank and a C.A.V. turbo and intercooler set up. A four-speed crash box with a much larger oil capacity is coupled up to a special remote transfer box with a tyre inflation set up. The axles are Timken made with the only Land Rover part on the axles being the rear wheel cylinders. "Lofty" was found in a scrap yard in hounslow in 1968 and was snapped up making this the second collection vehicle to be saved. It had a minor preservation some years ago and was put back into its original grey paint. The 11.00x16 tyres are the original type used when new.
